At The Belly Firm we are committed to helping you rehabilitate your abdominals, setting you on the grp_yogato postpartum fitness and health. Based in Melbourne we offer workshops and one-to-one tutorials in the Tupler Technique®, a clinically proven abdominal rehabilitation program. Dependent on client demand we can also run workshops in your area/state. 

 The Tupler Technique® was created by Julie Tupler, a registered nurse, certified childbirth educator and fitness instructor. She is the author of two books: Maternal Fitness and Lose Your Mummy Tummy and sits on the advisory board of Fit Pregnancy and the Women's Sport Foundation. She is internationally recognised as a leading expert in diastasis rehabilitation and her program is supported by research conducted by Columbia University's Department of Physical Therapy.

The Belly Firm are Australia's first and foremost licensed provider of the Tupler Technique®. As two health conscious mums we know what it's like to look in the mirror after you've had a baby and wonder what happened to your body and whether you'll ever get it back! We also know that when you have a family to look after you have limited time to spend on yourself. Most importantly we have experiential knowledge of what it's like to have a diastasis. That's why we are passionate about the Tupler Technique®: because we know it works.

A diastasis can be closed using the Tupler Technique®, no matter when or how it was created


lanaLana started her career in the fitness industry as an aerobics instructor 15 years ago. After developing a back injury she was introduced to Pilates as part of her rehabilitation program. Inspired by the results she pursued a career in Clinical Pilates and has since worked alongside industry leaders, chiropractors and osteopaths in the field of rehabilitation and muscle conditioning. Lana specialises in pre/post natal fitness and rehabilitation and is currently instructing mat and studio Pilates in addition to the Les Mills BodyBalance program.

After developing a diastasis during her second pregnancy Lana became interested in alternative rehabilitation techniques as opposed to the invasive surgical approach.  After small app - fit ballseries of dead ends, she was introduced to Julie Tupler from Tupler Technique® Maternal Fitness New York. By following the Tupler Technique® Lana was able to cure her diastasis twelve weeks. Thereafter Lana trained with Julie Tupler and refocused her Pilates work on diastasis rehabilitation. With The Belly Firm, Lana is the first licensed provider of the Tupler Technique® in Australia to offer these techniques, improving the health and wellbeing of many men and women with a diastasis.


StephanieStephanie has been a student of Yoga for many years. She holds an Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching from the Australian Yoga Academy and is certified with Yoga Australia. She specialises in pre-and post-natal yoga and maternal rehabilitation.

During her own pregnancy Stephanie was dismayed to discover that she had developed a diastasis recti. After consulting with many medical and fitness professionals she found that most were unsure of correct diastasis rehabilitation methods beyond painful and expensive surgery.  Then she discovered the Tupler Technique® . This unique exercise program enabled Stephanie to heal her diastasis, significantly strengthen her pelvic floor and tone her stomach.

Having experienced this condition firsthand and knowing that it often went yoga downdog and untreated,Stephanie was determined to try and help other mums like her so they too could feel and look good again. She trained with Julie Tupler, in New York and became a qualified Tupler Technique® practitioner. Combining these abdominal rehabilitation methods with her extensive fitness knowledge she also developed and refined her instructing, bringing her focus to pre- and post-natal yoga and developing programs that are ‘diastasis-friendly’.

Through The Belly Firm workshops Stephanie and Lana have pioneered the Tupler Technique® within Australia and are recognised as diastasis rehabilitation experts.
